2014 Milwaukee Irish Fest
A new highlight at the 2014 Milwaukee Irish Fest was the Cooking Demonstration Pavilion. The Children's Area featured a Viking Dig along with banjo making. The O’Laughlin clan celebrated their reunion.
The Brian Boru Millenium Celebration included genealogists, historians, music experts, bow makers and, chefs to present exhibits, lectures and demonstrations about the “Emporer of the Irish.” Four counties in Ireland participated in this commemoration: Tipperary, Clare, Dublin and Armagh.
Cultural exhibits at the festival included Casey at the Bat: The Irish in Baseball presented by the Ward Irish Music Archives, The Irish in WWI, and A Life in Photos of John Alley.
Entertainers at the 2014 fest included Beoga, Stepcrew, Searson, Sharon Shannon, McLean Avenue Band, The Willis Clan, Gaelic Storm, Carlos Nunez, Different Drums of Ireland, The High Kings, We Banjo 3, Scythian, Andy Irvine and Donal Lunny, Socks in the Frying Pan, Moxie Strings, Seamus Kennedy, Liz Carroll, Black 47, and Sean Callaghan. Dancers included Beglan Academy of Irish Dance, Cashel Dennehy School of Irish dance, Glencastle Irish Dancers, Kinsella Academy of Irish Dance, McMenamin Irish Dance Academy, Cronin School of Irish Dance, Trinity Academy of Irish Dance, and Gillan School of Highland Dance.
The music showcase for 2014 focused on Scotland. Entertainers included the Red Hot Chilli Pipers, Manran, Skerryvore, Dougie MacLean, Gria, Dallahan, The ALT, and Alisdair Fraser and Tony McManus
