1999 Milwaukee Irish Fest

A special appearance was made at the 1999 Milwaukee Irish Fest by Team Ireland, Beach Volleyball, who were preparing for the 2000 Olympics. The Cummings held a clan reunion.

Cultural components included 100 years of Irish Literature and demonstrations of lace-making, wool spinning, willow, and reed weaving. Visitors could experience prehistoric Ireland in the Cave of the Sun. The Ward Irish Music Archives featured a Bing Crosby exhibit, and the Cultural Tent also hosted a display dedicated to the life and times of Paddy Clancy along with the announcement of the Paddy Clancy Memorial Scholarship. Nora Hickey from County Cork  provided information in the Genealogy tent. Poetry by Peter Makem was also featured.

Entertainers in 1999 included Seven Nations, Sean McGuire, Anam, Tommy Makem, Schooner Fare, The New Barleycorn, La Bottine Souriante, Dervish, De Danann, Paddy Reilly, Donal Lunny and Coolfin, Tom Sweeney, The Armagh Rhymers, The Black Brothers, The Mary Custy Band, Rawlins Cross, and More Power to Your Elbow. Dancers included the Trinity Irish Dancers, Caledonian Scottish Dancers, Cashel-Dennehy Irish Dancers, and Gillan School of Highland Dance.
