2003 Milwaukee Irish Fest

Irish Music Magazine hosted an Irish Idol Contest at the 2003 Milwaukee Irish Fest, and the winner was Carbon Leaf. Walton’s also introduced a song contest.

Cultural exhibits included the Irish American Outlaws, the Bogs of Ireland and Wisconsin, History of the Claddagh, and What is a Shamrock? Ward Irish Music Archives presented an exhibit on the life and times of Bing Crosby.

Entertainers at the festival included Flook, The Cottars, The Barra MacNeils, Slainte Mhath, The McPeake Family, Barefield Ceili Band, North Cregg with Karan Casey, Carbon Leaf, Afro Celts, Tommy Makem, Gaelic Storm, Altan, Jeremy Kittel Dublin City Ramblers, and the Omagh Community Choir. Dancers represented included the Trinity Irish Dancers, Cashel Dennehy Irish Dancers, Glencastle Irish Dancers, Caledonian Scottish Dancers, and Gillan School of Highland Dance.
