In 1995 Milwaukee Irish Fest introduced the theme of “The Gathering, The Day, and The Scattering." The Gathering is our Thursday night sneak preview and ceili kickoff. The Day is Friday and Saturday. The Scattering is Sunday with a special Scattering show held at the end of the festival.
Ticket prices remained the same as in 1994 and the Conarchy clan held their reunion.
Cultural components included visits by RTE Dublin’s Paddy Clarke and Irish American music historian Dr. Bill Williams. Shirley Grade from The Yarn House and craftsmen direct from Ireland included jeweler Elaine Hanrahan and bodhran maker Eamonn Maguire. A Time of Hunger exhibit looked at the famine in Ireland from 1845-1850 complete with a cut out of a full size famine ship. Nora Hickey, a genealogist from Kinsale, County Cork visited the genealogy tent.
Entertainers included Cherish the Ladies, Schooner Fare, Arcady with the Voice Squad, Battlefield Band, Clancy Brothers with Robbie O’Connell, Green Fields of America, Dublin City Ramblers, Carmel Quinn, Paddy Reilly, Aoife Clancy, Brother, Black 47, Alias Ron Kavana, and The Irish Descendants. Dancers were the Trinity Irish Irish Dancers, Caledonian Scottish Dancers, Cashel Dennehy Irish Dancers, and Milwaukee School of Highland Dance.
